Moving on out!!!! WAY OUT!
It has been a long and exhausting weekend. Starting on Friday night I went shopping with Gary's friend Rob's wife. We shopped for like 5 hours and hit 5 stores...I am still not done! I am lucky though that I get to go during the day and finish mine up when other people are working! (although a paycheck would be nice...lol) Saturday we got up and moved a few things out at Gary's house for him to take up to his ex wife. While at my house my mom was packing away. I am so lucky to have a mom who is so helpfull and dont expect anything in return, although I did give her my old furniture. I dont know what I would do without my parents! So the rest of saturday we packed and moved me out to Gary's. As of December 31, I will be OUT of the duplex! And a resident of Odessa....wow talk about a change! Sunday was mostly just figuring out where to put what!!!! This is a big change for me a small town 30 miles away from my parents and not working. I am starting to really like it! hahaha...I have been doing my clinicals and I have decided to go into the fire fighting class at the first of the year. I have so much to be thankfull for as the end of the year rolls around. I have the BEST man that anyone could possibly want in my life right now, great parents who help me out as much as they possibly can....and the BEST friends who support me no matter what I decide to do! It dont get much better than this!!!! So as I move on out of the duplex, I am moving WAY OUT to Odessa....dont forget me way out here in the sticks!

First day of clinicals!
WOW, yesterday was a GREAT day. It was the first day that I went into do my EMT clinicals. I was working at St Mary's ER from 7am to 7pm with a 30 min lunch....now that part dont seem right to me, but I didnt mind since I didnt want to miss anything!!! I started out the day just following one guy named Johnny around. Nice guy, very helpfull but then I kept getting side tracked on diffrent things...so I ended up working with everyone! A GREAT group of workers! First patient of the day was a fall with a broken hip, that poor lady. I feel so bad for the people but at the same time, know that what I am doing is helping them so it keeps me motivated! The second one was an older lady who was having chest pain, or as she wanted to say, chest "stiffness". Well that is not a good sign and unfortunatly (for her) she WAS having a MI (or heart attack) she was probably one of the best patients I have ever heard or seen anywhere. I intercepted her when she came into the ER and I did not leave her side till she was thru surgery and resting in ICU! WHAT a GREAT process to be able to see. Now to back up a second...yep you heard me right. They had to go in and put the balloon in her artery and install a stint. I sat right behind the doc the whole time, and his assistant gave me a play by play on EVERYTHING!!!! It was probably one of the best things I have EVER seen!!!!! although, I could of done without wearing the lead suit! wholey cow those are heavy!!!!!! The whole process took about an hour, crazy how someone can be knocking on heavens door and then with a simple "roto rooter" process they feel 100% better!!! This patient told me at one time that she was in so much pain that she was about to give up. I calmly looked at her and told her she was not going to do so, that we would have her up and whipping her husband back into shape in no time! she laughed and after it was all said and done, promised me that she would never give up again. It was an AWESOME feeling knowing that I was there while they saved this ladies life! OK, for the downer of the day....I had to help them get blood from a 2mo old baby........YES 2MO OLD!!!! his lil veins were so small, and he screamed to high heaven, it about broke my heart! Also another cool thing that I got to see was a spinal tap being performed....I have had procedures like that done SEVERAL times with my back problems and it was really cool to be able to see it actually being done. Now I am torn on if I should go for nursing...or stick to the EMT/Paramedic side....oh decisions decisions....lol. I beleive I have found one more thing to make my life complete! wow, this year a new home, new man, and a new career......look out here comes a new GENNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My year is full of "NEW" everything!!!!

Its funny to me how when things are going bad and you think that you have reached the bottom of the barrell...its really hard to stop to think that things will get better. I know, I have been there most of the year this year. But this Thanksgiving, there have been a whole set of "NEW"" for me that I am so thankfull for! On Wed before Thanksgiving, Gary and I went out to Longview lake to watch the fireworks display. We had no kids, and as we sat there, we felt guilty doing something that they would of liked as well. But it was a great night, sitting in the truck wrapped around his arm watching the fireworks. We had tried to sit outside on the tailgate, but since we are not so smart sometimes we didnt take coats...so it was a little chilly! After that we drove around for a while talking and just enjoying each others company! What a great night!!!
On Thanksgiving, Gary, Holley and I went to my aunts house for dinner, then off to his moms to visit. Nothing spectacular, but it was nice to have the feel of a family again. Although we didnt have Trenton for dinner at my aunts, we had him when we went to go to Gary's moms. Oh did I mention that for some reason the KC star was not delivered to Odessa....come on, I know its a ways out there but gesh!!!!
Friday morning I got up bright and early....ok, well it wasnt bright...cause the sun is not up at 3AM!!! But me and my dad went out to brave the crazies shopping on black friday! Me and my dad dont do a whole lot together but this was one thing that we have been doing since Trenton was born. I love the time that we spend together! I have the best family!
Saturday, Gary's friend Rob came out like he does every saturday. Its funny that they have been friends since they were in preschool, and make time atleast one day of the weekend to spend together....NO WHY DONT WE DO THAT!!!! hahaha...sorry I think he person that was inteded to knows who I am talking about! But....while they hung garage doors and whatever else they did, I took the kiddos to Wal mart and then back home to play. I left to go back to my duplex in the early afternoon so that I could clean up, but my mom, God love her!, had already been by, cleaned up my house and let my dog out! did I mention that I had the BEST family!!!! Then Saturday night my parents wanted to keep Trenton since they dont get to see him NEAR as much as they used to,....so we dropped him off. Gary, Holley and I went out to a friends house, did some BSing had a few (to many) drinks and just enjoyed the company!
Sunday rolls around and we have NOTHING planned for once....normally we dont have both kids on Sunday so we got up, went and got trenton, went and ate then off to Burr Oak Woods. My aunt used to take me and my cousing there when we were about Trenton and Holleys age....they loved it....just as I used to. I cant wait for spring so that we can go walking on the trails. Then home to try and take a nap...YEAH RIGHT!!! In the evening we decided to put up the Christmas tree...Here is the finished product...and my two little monkeys!!! I will have to come back and post the pics, my computer wont let me!
